• Top Personal Development Tweets of the week: Issue no. 4

by  • October 8, 2013 • Top Tweets of the week

TweetsI love to read good Tweets on personal development. They get me thinking. I begin to see new angles and to get lots of new ideas. Ones that add to my knowledge of it. And I love to share these insights with others.

This week is no exception to this rule. And I am pleased to share them with you in this blog. I only hope you enjoy reading them as much as I do writing them.

More than that I hope that you learn as much from them as I did. And that these Tweets and the insights I got from them help you to learn more about yourself. To know yourself better. To be happier. And to map out a way to a better life. Just as they did for me.

1st. of the Top Personal Development Tweets of the week

TweetsFrederique Murphy @IrishSmiley “A boost on your happiness will result in a boost in the other areas of your life.” – Frederique Murphy.

This idea of a boost is not confined to happiness. You can use it to your advantage in your personal development as well. It will work as a chain reaction for you. So that when you make headway in one area it helps you in other areas of your life as well. It works in the same way as happiness to boost other areas of your life.

Of course some activities give us far more leverage than others. So we need to think carefully about which activities we choose to work on. Ones that have the same leverage on your development as happiness has on your life are best. In fact all the better ones are strengths. So the trick is to use a good selection system to help you identify the best strengths to work on right now.

2nd. of the Top Personal Development Tweets of the week

TweetsDan Rockwell @DanRockwell “Some people want it to happen, some wish it would happen, others make it happen.” – Michael Jordan.

These are the three stages of personal development. When we develop we move up through these three stages. We start with wanting it to happen. Then we begin to wish it would happen. And then we just make it happen.

This is a great way to select what strengths you need to work on. First ask what do I want to happen? Draw up a list of least ten possible things you want to happen. Then ask which of these do I wish to happen? Then pick three items from you list of ten to answer this question. Now select the top one of these and make it happen.

3rd. Top Personal Development Tweet of the week

TweetsDenny Coates @DennyCoates “The most incomprehensible thing about the world is that it is so comprehensible.”  – Albert Einstein.

I love this idea of our world being so easy to understand. And how easy it is to understand ourselves. When we use the right map. And Positive Psychology is very much the right map for our personal development.

The key thing for us to understand is our strengths. The things we do really well. When we know these and use them in everything we do. We thrive and go from strength to strength. When you know what you do best you will shine in your work and personal life. And you will happy in yourself and content with your lot in life. You will attract the right kind of people and the right kind of ideas.

4th. of the Top Personal Development Tweets of the week.

TweetsSheila Ramsey @SheilaJRamsey  “The vibration of joy inside me has a life of its own, not dependent on having a good day. It just is.” – Sheila Ramsey.

This great quote describes the kind of happiness that flows from your personal development. It is enduring and is a great backdrop for a life of happiness and achievement. It is a goal to aim for. And personal development is the way to achieve it. Proving mood music for your daily life. That is always there and not just on good days.

5th. of the Top Personal Development Tweets of the week.

TweetsAlice Martin @AliceMartin8  “It’s hard to beat a person who never gives up. – Babe Ruth.

Sticking with it is the key to personal development. When you refuse to give up you can achieve what you want. It is the road to happiness and joy. It is about putting together a really good personal development plan. Sticking with it. And working at it every day until you achieve your goal. Remember it is the sticking with that makes all the difference between success and failure.

We can use positive psychology to improve how we live our lives. So I love to share my understanding of it with others. To help them grow and flourish as I have. The posts on this blog set out to do just that. You need a lot of skill to make a relationship a happy one. So I write about relationship skills. Skills you can learn how to use in your own relationship. To keep it in good shape. To solve problems that may arise in it. And to improve the quality of your relationship. To make both of you happy.
